At a chess tournament at Hawthorne Hill Elementary on Sat. March 5, with three different divisions. Junior Ben Ward won the top division (K-12) with a perfect score, winning all four of his games.
Sponsor Aaron Bailey said, “[Sophomore] Lily Page also earned a trophy for the top 10th grade performer at the event. [Juniors] Joey Gonzalez, Carter Cox, and Ashton Wooster all finished with a 3-1 record, and placed second, third, and fourth respectively.” Juniors Noah Stokes and Tanner Kuchar, and sophomore Jackie Calkins also competed.
