On the night of Tuesday, Feb. 18, the Titans traveled to Blue Springs South to take on the Jaguars in a conference match. The Jags were coming off a win against Grandview Christian while the Titans were coming off a big rivalry win against the Lee’s Summit North Broncos.
Both teams played tough defense as both teams went into the locker room at the half with the Titans holding a tight one-point lead. Despite the Titans holding the Jags to a 37% shooting percentage, South sent the game into overtime where they would win by 3 points on the back of guard Khayden Hooks who had 18 points. The Titans were led by Luke Jordan’s 17 points in the losing effort.
The Titans returned home that Friday night for their Courtwarming game against the conference-leading Raymore Peculiar Panthers. In the earlier match, the Panthers bested the Titans by 8 on the Panther’s home court. Halfway through the game, it looked as if that result would switch over in the Titans favor as they lead 27-24 after two quarters.
After halftime, however, the Panthers came out firing as they went on a 27-5 run in the third quarter to jump ahead by 19 points. The Panthers would hold on to win by a score of 65-44 on the strength of forward Kian Scroggins’ 25 points and Jordan Jermain’s 18 points.
The Titans will return to action on February 25th against Park Hill on the road, and February 28 at home against Blue Springs South for Senior Night.
