This week the Titan Soccer team played their first two competitive games of the season, away at Park Hill South, and home against cross-town rival Lee’s Summit. The first game ended 1-0 in favor of Park Hill South, with the game-deciding goal coming from a penalty kick in the second half. Junior Dozie Osuagwu said “It was just one of those games where you did everything right but still couldn’t get the result.”
Thursday night’s game was another loss for the Titans, as the game finished 3-0. Head coach Chris Brizendine said Lee’s Summit “was a very, very solid team, we knew that coming in.” Brizendine continued, “we came out ready to play both halves, we played very hard at the beginning of both halves, had a lot of good chances, but we just had some breakdowns that we’ll need to work through.”
Looking ahead to next week, the Titans will compete in a week long tournament at Blue Springs South. Training wise, Brizendine said “We’ll have to look at the film, see where some of those breakdowns happened. So probably start there, then just work through it…It’s still September, and we go into November, so we’ve got a lot to work on, so that’s how it’s gonna go.”
