February is Black History Month. For Black History Month, Lee’s Summit West decorated a bulletin board outside of a social studies classroom. The bulletin board has information about Martin Luther King Jr. and other famous African Americans. The Gallery is also decorated. It depicts different historical events and facts. This includes information about Rosa Parks and a depiction of the sit in at Woolworth’s, which was a diner where four African American students demanded to be served lunch.
