Today, the Senior IB Diploma candidates met to discuss wrapping up their Extended Essay, a 4000 word essay going in depth into a subject of their choosing. The coordinator, History Teacher Steve Smith, has planned a sort of celebration for students to present their research and to answer questions on their work. This process, known as Viva Voce, is usually done in a room with only the student, the Extended Essay Coordinator, the IB Coordinator, and the student’s Extended Essay sponsor. To make it more fun and educational, Smith said he decided to instead schedule a presentation in front of other Candidates, parents and teachers.
