Many West students attended Oktoberfest on Oct. 3 and 4. While many students went to play games and ride rides with friends, some participated in performances.
Bailey West, a Junior at West, writes songs and plays guitar. West takes guitar lessons, and her teacher’s band and she got the opportunity to play in her teacher’s band “Making Movies.” West performed her own song, “Naming Trees”, while her family came to support her.
West said “At first I was a little nervous, but once I got up there and started playing, everything was alright. I just smiled and sang.”
West’s brother, Alex West, is a Sophomore at West. Alex West was one of Bailey West’s family members that came to support her. Alex said “ She only did one song but it was good, and I’m proud of her.”
Another Junior from West performed at Oktoberfest. Paige Crockett danced during the festival. She, along with a group of dancers, performed with Monica’s Dance Studio.
Crockett said she has been dancing for fourteen years. After the performance Crockett said “I was not nervous.” Just like West, Crockett also performed in front of family and friends.
Titans were represented well at this year’s Oktoberfest.
