There have been many different opinions from Titan staff and students about block scheduling. Block scheduling was put into place this year for E.O.C. testing, so students would not miss other classes because of their testing.
During block scheduling classes were an hour and a half long. The days were either even or odd hours. On 2,4,6 days advisory lasted two hours. Titans were talking about the Block schedule, weather we were saying good things or bad.
Sometimes whether or not block scheduling works depends on the class.
Spanish teacher Martha Lane said, “It may work for more upper level classes, but for lower level classes it was not good.”
Lane also said “Block scheduling is not the best scenario for the teachers or students.”
Mrs. Owensby is an English teacher and the yearbook teacher. Owensby said “I think regular is better because I get to see all my students. Sometimes it can be confusing to tell which students I saw on which days during block.”
Some students liked block scheduling unlike the teachers.
Junior, Alex Pattison said,“ Block schedule relieves stress because I don’t have to do homework for a whole day.”
Sophomore, Paige Crockett said, “I liked block better because I didn’t have to do my homework that night.”
With EOC testing ending and the seniors leaving the school has gone back to the regular schedule with having all seven classes every day.
