On Wednesday, November 14th, the LSW winter sports
season was kicked off with the annual, Clash of the Titans.

The meeting lasted an hour and 45 minutes. Participants in Titan wrestling, boys and girls basketball, and girls swimming and diving were all in attendance. The athletes met in the PAC where the student athletes were reminded on policies, requirements, and given instructions on what is excepted from an athlete. Ms. Alshire and Ms. Katzfey talked to the athletes.

After the meeting in the PAC, the students split to meet with their respected coaches and instructors in different areas across the school. When the Titans were split up by sport, the coaches explained expectations, schedules, and expressed their hopes for the season. The students also heard about team bonding and booster club fundraisers. Forms were signed and excitement for the upcoming season built among players.

“Clash of the Titans made me excited for our first game and for the rest of the season,” sophomore and varsity basketball player Kelsey Shanahan said.

At the end of this winter’s annual Clash of the Titans, sports players left with an understanding of the rules, and an excitement for hopefully eventful and successful season. Best of luck to winter sports.
