The Titan Football team took on Lee’s Summit North for the first time in school history on Friday in the Border War game.

“It is a fun game, but it is always important to show a team that has never seen us on the field that were no joke,” said Senior Brandon Miller.

The Titans did just this, taking a 14-0 lead after the first quarter with two rushing touchdowns from Senior Austin Burau and Junior Ryan Williams. The Titans kept this up in the second quarter taking a 21-0 lead with two minutes left in the half on a 53 yard touchdown run by Junior DeMarcus Edwards.

“We knew if we played our best we would be a tough team to beat,” said Burau.

The Titans continued the shutout through the third quarter and extending the lead to 35-0 with another rushing touchdown from Williams and a 31 yard touchdown pass from Junior Thomas Ganaden to Junior Monte Harrison. In the fourth quarter the Titans played lockdown defense and kept the ball away from North closing out the game with a 42-0 win.

The win improves the Titans record to 4-0 in Border Wars and gives them a record of 5-0 this season. The Titans are not ready to slow down yet though.

“We can’t settle on this win. Games over so now we have to move on to next Friday,” said Brandon Miller.

The Titans next game is the Homecoming game on Sept. 28 against Park Hill South.
